Face of the Day

So today, this is what my face looked like, cute isn't it? Just kidding. I wish I could say I woke up like this, but alas my friends, this took some effort.

I decided to stick to something that's fairly simple, but still makes me look alive and ready to take on the life of retail (insert daunting music here).  I've been really gravitating towards warmer red tones on my eyes because I find that it compliments me well--it could totally not, but that's just my personal opinion--and just bronzing up my face because I'm quite pasty looking and I want to look like I've been frolicking around in the sun when I've basically been inside ALL DAY. Alright, enough chit chat... let's get juicy. ;)

Product Breakdown

On my face, as a base (ha ha, that rhymed), I haven't been using foundation because my skin has been looking pretty damn good and less is more, right? Right. So I've been sticking to concealer where I desperately need it which is under the eyes and around my nose which is due to lack of sleep and hormonal redness ('cause don't you know I'm a lady?). And for that I have been using the Maybelline Dream Lumi Touch Concealer under my peepers and the MAC Studio Finish Concealer around my nose.

For blush I used Tarte's Amazonian Clay 12 Hour Blush in the shade Glisten which is a rosy color that has a slight silver shimmer which makes your cheeks look like their highlight is naturally on fleek (yeah, that just happened and I hate myself a little because of it). And for bronzer I used Rimmel's Natural Bronzer in the shade Sun Dance. This bronzer was kind of an impulse buy and it's a great color, however the chunky shimmer is a total turn off, but more on that in a different post.

On my brows I used  the Anastasia Beverly Hills Brow Powder Duo in the shade Ebony. The lady at Sephora recommended the shade Brunette, but it was too light for my taste--I prefer a darker, bolder brow, but like I said, that's just my cup of tea. To set the brows, because this is a necessary step for my unruly little friends, I used E.L.F.'s brow gel. This product is a must for people who like to keep their brows groomed and neat. It's inexpensive and it holds the brow really well, so you can't really complain.

For my little peepers I used a the limited edition palette that MAKE UP FOR EVER released for the Fifty Shades of Grey movie, so I don't think you can purchase that anymore (whoops, sorry guys). But for those of you who do have it, I used the reddish coppery shade all over my lid and on the bottom lash line. To add some definition, I went in with Samael which is one of the brown contour shades from the Kat Von D Shade + Light Eye Contour Palette (that is a REALLY long name). Usually with this look, I just tight line my eyes with a black eye pencil, but I was feeling sassy today and went for winged liner with MAKE UP FOR EVER's Graphic Liner pen. To finish off my eye look, I curled and coated my lashes with a combination of MAKE UP FOR EVER's Smoky Extravagant mascara and Covergirl's Clump Crusher mascara--and let me just say that Covergirl's Clump Crusher mascara  is the best mascara of all time and I cannot live without it, I have tried and I just can't.

And finally on my lips (it's about time right? where's the Oscar's music at?), I used the Nars Satin Lip Pencil in Rikugien. How the hell do you even pronounce that? Like, am I the only one? I don't think I am. This outrageously named pencil is a really nice warm rosey color, similar to the Tarte blush that I used on my cheeks, so obviously there's a rosy theme here. With that being said, that is my completed face of the day.

For those of you who stuck around until the very end of this very long post, I thank you and commend you for your long attention span because Lord knows I don't have one.

XOXO,
Tanya
